Application of Drilling Resistivity Logging to Raise Oil Layer Drilling Rate in Tuha Oilfield

With the new technology of resistivity logging while drilling, it can accurately identify the top boundary and bottom boundary of the reservoir and greatly increase the drilling rate of the reservoir. On February 7, technical data showed that this technology was successfully applied to the newly completed horizontal well of Tuhaying 504H.

Resistivity logging while drilling is to install an additional sensor to measure the resistivity of the formation on the drill pipe. In the past, only the sensors for measuring the gamma of the formation had been drilled. There was no device capable of accurately recognizing the resistivity of the oil layer. The resistivity test could only wait for the well logging technicians, resulting in the drilling of the oil layer. With this resistivity sensor while drilling, real-time data of the formation resistivity can be seen on the computer display, and the reservoir can be judged based on the resistivity curve.

The Tuha oil and gas resources are abundant, but many of them are difficult to use low-grade reserves. Therefore, it is urgent to solve the problems of low drilling rate, difficulty in construction, long period, and high cost in the effective oil layer during drilling. After the application of this technology, it can further improve the development effect of difficult-to-use reserves.
