The "718" patent infringement lawsuit between Crystal and Philips began in 2005, and both parties went from the US International Trade Commission (ITC) to the federal court.
   Philips' "718" patent belongs to the basic patent, which mainly affects the high-brightness and ultra-high brightness quaternary red LED products of Jingdian. The application side includes automobile?x headlights, traffic signs, outdoor display billboards, indoor lighting complementary colors.    As Crystal Electric appealed to the US federal court in May, it requested a waiver of ICT's limited injunction, allowing products that were previously accused of infringement to enter the US market.
   However, the "718" patent will expire in December this year. Philips intends to file a notice in the US District Court to trace the infringement liability of the past products used by Jingdian. The two parties finally reached a settlement and completed the patent authorization.
   After the two parties reached a settlement, Jingdian also obtained the technical license of Philips' AlInGaP LED, and the authorization conditions were not disclosed. As for the two infringement lawsuits against the blue LEDs of the company, the company has already settled and rescinded. With the infringement lawsuit between Philips and the end of the lawsuit, Jingdian is no longer guilty of infringement lawsuits.
   Jingdian stressed that the lawsuit reached a settlement, mainly considering the payment of litigation costs. It is better for the two parties to work together.
