The MAX97200 is a 45mW Class H headphone amplifier that operates from a single power supply as low as 1.8V and uses Maxim ’s second-generation DirectDrive® technology.
The MAX97200 uses a dual-mode (Dual Mode ™) charge pump to generate the supply voltage required by the amplifier. The charge pump can output ± PVIN / 2 or ± PVIN voltage, depending on the amplitude of the output signal. When the output signal amplitude is low, the power supply voltage is ± PVIN / 2. When a larger output signal is required, the charge pump switches modes to generate a higher power supply voltage, thereby providing greater output power to the load.
Compared with the first-generation DirectDrive amplifier, the second-generation DirectDrive technology has lower power consumption. The MAX97200 is powered by a 1.8V regulated source and consumes the same power as a traditional DirectDrive amplifier powered by 0.9V.
Maxim's DirectDrive architecture uses an inverting charge pump to generate a negative supply voltage. The headphone amplifier is powered by a positive power supply and a negative power supply. This scheme allows the audio output signal to be biased near ground potential, eliminating the need for large DC blocking capacitors between the amplifier output and the headphone load.
The low output offset voltage has excellent click / pop suppression performance when entering and exiting the off state. The extremely high signal-to-noise ratio supports the high-fidelity design of the system.
The MAX97200 is available in a small 12-ball, wafer-level package (WLP 1.27mm x 1.65mm) with a tiny 0.4mm ball pitch, and operates over the extended temperature range of -40 ° C to + 85 ° C.

Superfast Recovery Rectifier is the most popular use for diodes. Fast rectifiers convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). They only allow one-way flow of electrons. Rectifiers have many uses and are often found serving as components of high-voltage direct current power transmission systems and DC power supplies. Fast rectifier diodes feature very low reverse recovery time, very low switching losses and low noise turn-off switching.
