Foshan City signed an agreement with the Provincial Science and Technology Department yesterday, and the Guangdong Province LED product application industry development demonstration zone was settled in Foshan. Mayor Li Weiwei proposed that five districts in Foshan should take out a few roads to make a model road for LED energy-saving lamps.
According to the agreement, Guangdong Science and Technology Department will strengthen cooperation with Foshan City in LED industry development planning, park construction, public service platform construction, etc. It is planned to take Chancheng District as the guide and Nanhai Guangdong New Light Source Industrialization Base as the core area. LED features industrial parks, and cultivates some leading enterprises in the industry to seize the high end of the industrial chain.
Li Xinghua, director of the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province, said that the reason why the demonstration park was placed in Foshan was because the Foshan LED industrial chain was basically complete and had a good development foundation. He hopes that the Foshan Municipal Government can help enterprises accelerate the marketing of LED.
In this regard, Foshan Mayor Li Weiwei said that the Foshan Municipal Government will fully promote the construction of the demonstration park.
Li Weiwei asked several districts in the city to take out several roads, such as Chanxi Avenue, Foshan Avenue and the roads around FAW-Volkswagen, installing LED energy-saving lamps, and considering the model road for LED applications.
It is understood that Foshan has taken “new light source industry†as one of the key development industries. It is planned that by the end of 2012, Foshan LED industry should realize an output value of 20 billion yuan, forming a relatively complete industrial chain from chip, package to application, and fostering 3 ~ 4 internationally competitive leading companies with independent brands and core technologies.
