Tianren Chang'an Tower, located at the commanding height of the 2011 Xi'an World Horticultural Exposition Park, is the symbol of the Xi'an World Expo 2011. It is the core landscape of the park and the best view point overlooking the park.
Bi Design Lighting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang New Central Architectural Design Co., Ltd. have formed a design consortium to undertake the exterior lighting design of all buildings inside the park including Tianren Changan Tower. Tianren Changan Tower is the whole project. The top priority.
Chang'an Tower maintains the charm of the square ancient tower in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, while adding modern elements. The Changan Tower is 99 meters high and the ground part is divided into 7 layers of clear layer and 6 layers of dark layers. The tower adopts a steel structure frame, and the shape of Chang'an Tower has the characteristics of the traditional wooden tower of the Tang Dynasty: a layer of provocation has a layer on the top, and it is filled with layers and is full of rhythm. The size of the provocative layers of each layer is wide and wide, reflecting the grand features of the wooden structure of the Tang Dynasty and the far-reaching characteristics and style. The roof and all the provocations are made of transparent ultra-white safety glass, and the wall also uses a glass curtain wall to form the effect of the crystal tower, full of modernity. The combination of metal members between the armpit and the stigma is an abstraction and generalization of the underarm arching system of the traditional building. The glass curtain wall retreats inside the outer channel column and is fixed by the glass ribs with the column and the beam. Due to the large number of steel structures and related components, it has the advantages of light weight, high strength, good seismic performance, easy industrial production, energy saving, land recyclability, less environmental pollution during construction and demolition, and is known as the 21st century. According to the design concept of the architect Zhang Jinqiu, Changan Tower is not a simple sightseeing tower, but a cultural landmark. First of all, it must reflect the traditional Chinese concept of "Heaven and Man" and the philosophy of cosmology. This requires the tower to blend in with the surrounding landscape. The tower becomes an organic component of the natural environment, and at the same time, people in the tower also have the feeling of being in harmony with nature and interacting with nature. Changan Tower's design theme is Chang'an, a natural and creative. The tower has the iconic culture of "Tianren Chang'an". Its image has the characteristics of "Chang'an". It is designed into a square according to the characteristics of Tang Chang'an Pagoda. The appearance of the tower has the characteristics of the Tang Dynasty wooden structure tower. Reflecting the symbiosis and common prosperity of Changan people and nature in history, this tower has the symbol of culture.
Innovations in lighting design concepts, methods, etc.:
Tianren Chang'an Tower is located at the commanding height of the Xi'an Shiyuanhui Park and is the core landscape of the park. Night lighting not only expresses the characteristics of architecture, but also incorporates modern wisdom into this pagoda full of Buddhist culture through scientific means.
The lighting of Tianren Chang'an Tower fully combines the characteristics of architectural shapes and materials. Ultra-clear glass allows light to penetrate and refract to the outermost side of the eaves. By carefully adjusting the angle of illumination, the layered steel frame on the eaves is evenly illuminated, giving the building's overall shape and material characteristics a perfect display. The key projection lamps added to the columns, bucket arches, tower brakes, etc., make the brightness of these parts higher than the overall brightness of the tower body, enhancing the three-dimensional sense of the building. The LED wall washer installed inside illuminates the core body of the tower, adding a crystal clear effect to the night sky.

Energy saving measures in lighting design:
All luminaires in the exterior lighting of Tianren Changan are equipped with RGB full-color LED lamps. LED light source has the advantages of high light efficiency, long life and easy control. Due to the decentralized arrangement of the lamps, the single power of the LED light source can be fully utilized, thereby avoiding waste of light and energy.
In order to meet the needs of different time zones in the park, we have set up multiple scene effects such as celebrations, festivals and weekdays for the illumination of Tianren Chang'an Tower. The brightness and color of each scene are different. All luminaires are integrated into the intelligent DMX512 dimming control system to achieve complex changes in brightness and color. While achieving the desired results, the actual power consumption is reduced.
