The configuration process of using D-Link AirPlus G Wireless UTIlity to access 802.1x + PEAP (TLS)
First open the D-Link AirPlus G Wireless UTIlity wireless network card management software that comes with D-LINK (hardware corresponding model D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter # rev.B):
Find the SSID of the wireless AP of 802.1x + PEAP.
Remarks:
demonalex ---------- WEP encryption, SSID of AP supporting 802.11b
gzpia ----------------- WPA (Enterprise = 802.1x + EAP), SSID of AP supporting 802.11g
Now we first double-click the record whose SSID is gzpia with the mouse, and the properties dialog box will pop up:
From the above dialog box, we can confirm that the AP is enabled with "IEEE 802.1X", now click the "Authentication Configuration" button ...
Select "EAP Type" as "PEAP" and "EAP-MSCHAPV2";
Select "Confirm Server Certificate";
"User name", "Password" and "Confirm password" respectively input the user name and password for the user to apply for registration on RADIUS.
Finally, press the "Confirm" button to return to the "Configuration" dialog box, and then press the "Confirm" button to continue to the next step.
At this point, the operation interface will return to the "Site Scan" tab of the management client. In the "Document" column, we can find a new record named gzpia. First select it, and then raise its position through the "up arrow" icon Go to the highest record, and finally press the "Connect" button on the right side of the interface ... about 20 seconds, the following prompt will pop up:
This prompt form is actually an inquiry prompt that RADIUS will send the certificate distribution request to us through TLS. Press "OK" to continue. After confirmation, there is no change, but at this time we still cannot connect to the WLAN. Back to the "Site Scan" tab of D-Link AirPlus G Wireless UTIlity:
Double-click the 'gzpia' record in the "Document" sub-column, and select "Authentication Configuration" in the pop-up "Configuration" form:
At this time we can see the host name of the authentication server in the "Trusted Server" input field at the bottom, now we press the "Confirm" button to return to the "Configuration" form, and press "Confirm" again to return to D-Link AirPlus G Wireless UTIlity's "Site Scan" tab. Then once again select the 'gzpia' record in the "Document" column, press the "Connect" button ... wait another 20 seconds or so, now we switch to the "Connection Information" tab of the D-Link AirPlus G Wireless Utility:
Pay attention to the content corresponding to the "connection information" column, and then PING your WLAN intranet host ... the entire configuration process is completed.
