Zhejiang PV module makers actively develop customer base

Photovoltaic module manufacturers in Zhejiang are stepping up their efforts and expect to increase their competitiveness and their sustainability in the photovoltaic industry in the coming months. Due to the industry situation, in the past year, many small and medium-sized enterprises in Zhejiang moved their business strategies or declared failures.

For most suppliers, weakening demand is the primary issue facing exports. In the past few years, Germany and other European Union member states have cut back on subsidies for on-grid tariffs for large-scale photovoltaic power generation installations, driving down the consumption of components and related technologies. The EU is the largest overseas market for photovoltaic cells and components in China, accounting for approximately 80% of foreign exchange earnings.

At present, Zhejiang photovoltaic manufacturers are actively seeking shipments to the Middle East to offset the shrinking sales situation. Kenya and other African countries are also considered as potential markets. In addition, some companies intend to increase the revenue in the domestic market. The Chinese market is considered to have high growth potential, and the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan has encouraged, to a certain extent, increased local demand and reduced dependence on foreign markets.

As part of their efforts to improve the supplier’s target market competitiveness, they are also stepping up tightening of cost control measures to maintain or lower the price of competitors, although this is difficult for many companies.
