C&K Components, the world's leading manufacturer of electromechanical switches, smart card interconnects and high-reliability connectors, has a new high-reliability ergonomic keyboard switch for applications that require long life, including gaming, industrial, professional and workstation keyboards. With a long life span of 50,000,000 cycles, the KBD Series switches offer two haptic response and maneuverability options designed to meet the design specifications and end user needs of individual OEM users.
The KBD series switches are top-start single-pole, single-throw (SPST) devices with a pre-stroke distance of 1.5 – 2 mm and a total stroke distance of 4 mm. All KBD Series switches have a lifespan of up to 50,000,000 cycles, a range of operating forces (buttons are color coded) and one of the tactile responses: linear start, 60 ± 20gf (black) and 45 ± 20gf (red); Pressure point starting, 60 ± 20gf (blue) and 55 ± 20gf (brown). The switch features a gold contact rated at 10mA @ 12VDC and a lead-free, RoHS-compliant tin-plated termination with an operating temperature range of -10°C to +70°C.
