The new Helsinki University Main Library in the important historic district of the city replaces the original store. It serves teachers and students in the arts, law, social sciences and technology disciplines.
The new library building will form a complete block boundary through its curved brick façade and form a street facade along with the adjacent building. The façade of the library uses glass and red bricks as the main materials. The interior of the building has an oval open space in the middle that makes the library look very special. Through the arched opening on the facade, you can see the reading gallery inside the building.
