DisplaySearch announced panel quotes in late September, and the NB panel has seen a drop. According to Xie Qinyi, vice president of DisplaySearch, the prices of LCD monitors and notebooks have fallen to cash costs, and they are expected to stop falling in October. However, the TV panel still has downward pressure, and it is not until the end of the year that there is a chance to stabilize.
Xie Qinyi said that the overall LCD TV inventory pressure still exists, the current TV sales are good, digest some of the panel inventory, but it is expected to wait until November and December, inventory can go further, making the TV panel price will not stabilize until the end of the year.
Part of the monitor panel, because many dimensions have fallen to cash costs, resulting in a net cash outflow from the LCD plant, prompting panel makers to continue to reduce capacity utilization and prevent further bleeding output. Therefore, the monitor panel will have the opportunity to start stabilizing, or the decline will continue to shrink.
In particular, some commercial LCD monitors, some companies have seen demand recovery. The current variable is that since the TV panel is still bearish in the fourth quarter, some TVs and monitors are produced in the same factory. Under the TV panel's bearishness, it is still possible to hit the monitor panel price.
As for the NB panel, the NB panel price in the second half of September was first held steady as the panel factory strictly controlled the production volume and adjusted the inventory. At the same time, end-market demand is also seeing a rebound. It is expected that NB shipments in the third quarter will grow from the second quarter, and it is expected that the NB panel in the fourth quarter will return to a healthy state.
In terms of LCD TVs, weak demand in major markets, especially the LCD TV market in the United States, has caused brand TV makers to continue to reduce terminal prices, hoping to stimulate sales and demand panel price cuts.
Especially in the LED-backlit LCD TVs, LED-backlit TVs must be significantly reduced in price because they must sprint at the end of the peak season. This has to be followed by LED-backlit TV panels, which must be followed by substantial price cuts, making the TV panel prices persistently bearish.
