Many people know that it is not so easy to find a pair of shoes suitable for their own feet. People often have to increase or decrease the size of the half according to the choice of the label, not to mention the difference between the instep and the foot. In some cases, How to wear shoes is not suitable, except for a pair of double-tested or trained "eyes", what should be good?
Perhaps seeing this opportunity, Japanese startup Flicfit has designed a new 3D scanning system to help both businesses and customers find the right shoes as quickly as possible.
Flicfit's system consists of two main components: a shoe scanner and a foot scanner. The former allows the merchant to use a 3D scan of all the internal dimensions of the shoe to build a database, while the latter can pass through the customer's foot for about 10 seconds. Scan to find the right product.
Shoe internal 3D scannerAfter the customer scans through the foot scanner, the algorithm in the Flicfit iOS app crosses the shape of the foot with the shoes in the store and offers suggested items for the foot in the existing shoe. Customers can also Conditional screening (color, price) through the iPad to find shoes that meet your needs inside and outside.
Customer foot scanFlicfit believes that this system will not only save time for customers and businesses, but also help increase store sales – because under the system's recommendations, customers may try shoes that would otherwise not be considered.
After matching, the appropriate shoe styles are displayed on the iPad for customers to choose from. This system is currently only available for ladies footwear styles, and Flicfit plans to extend to children's and men's footwear applications in the future. In an interview with Industrial News at the beginning of the year, President Guangqiao said that they are stepping up efforts to make the system a standard for shoes selection, and hope to "bring a revolution for the shoe store."
Flicfit President Guangqiao BorenThe official website did not disclose the exact price, but according to the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, the initial cost of the system in each store is 500,000 yen (about RMB 29,100), and it must pay 300,000 yen per month (about RMB). The additional rent of 1.75 million yuan is currently used by merchants in Shinjuku Isetan and Hankyu Umeda Department Store.
Store display using the scanning systemThe technology also has other potential applications, such as the huge market for online shopping footwear, although consumers should have concerns about where to scan the foot and how to compare the data with the online sellers. These problems have been solved, and it is believed that it will effectively increase consumer acceptance of online shopping shoes.
