Daily maintenance of diesel generator sets

Since diesel generator sets are in standby state for most of the time, there are fewer opportunities for actual use, and some lack comprehensive testing and maintenance. When a power outage needs to be used, there will often be one or the other problems that cannot be used as an emergency. In order to enable the emergency generator to start normally during the power outage, provide emergency power supply in time, and maintain it normally. Simple maintenance methods are as follows.

1. Maintenance of the battery pack

Since the emergency power supply is not put into use frequently, if the maintenance of the battery pack is neglected, the battery power will be insufficient, and the generator will not start normally. Therefore, even if the generator is not in use, it should be maintained in accordance with the regular team. For example, adding distilled water regularly, keeping the surface of the battery clean, starting the generator regularly, charging the battery, replacing the new battery according to the service life of the battery, so that the battery always has enough power.

2. Startup solenoid valve maintenance

When the start solenoid valve coil is blown, the generator cannot be started. It can be judged by listening to the sound at the start. Under normal circumstances, when the start button is pressed, it can be started after 3 s. In these 3s, you can hear the sound of "å’”å—’, å’”å—’". If the second sound is not heard, the solenoid valve is damaged and the solenoid valve can be replaced after it has been replaced.

Regularly check whether the surface of the starting solenoid valve is oily, and whether the contact is ablated, so that the solenoid valve maintains a good working condition.

3. Pay attention to the inspection of diesel and engine oil

The diesel fuel tank of the generator is generally placed in a sealed room. As the moisture in the atmosphere condenses due to temperature changes, the water droplets adhere to the inner wall of the tank and then flow into the diesel oil. As a result, the water content in the diesel oil exceeds the standard, and finally the plunger of the high-pressure oil pump is corroded, and the unit is poorly supplied with oil, and of course, it cannot be started. The engine oil has a shelf life. The storage time is too long. The physicochemical properties of the oil will change and the lubrication function will be lost. As a result, the lubrication state will deteriorate during the operation of the unit, and eventually the generator parts will be damaged.
